New Leagues this Season
Take note - our leagues take a couple of weeks
to run through the draft process...we will probably kick off
one - maybe two - more leagues in March. If you're
interested in playing, you should pick a league soon and
shoot for getting a league full with 16 teams. (2/27/10) If you join Benchwarmer Baseball, when will you draft?

- Leagues are full once they reach 16 teams.
- Because of the multiple-phase aspect of building a team,
the entire process generally takes a couple of weeks, so
don't put it off too long.
- What to expect for the
time needed to play
Benchwarmer Baseball
- List Draft
- The normal draft method in BWB.
- You submit a list of up to 40 players - keeping under
the salary cap.
- There will be 2-3 follow-up phases to fill your rosters,
since you won't get every player you want.
- Once the league fills, the draft deadline will be set to
final (roughly one week after the last team joins), but you
can create your draft list immediately.
- Live Draft
- An "experiment" this year in BWB.
- The draft format is very primitive - we draft via chat
room and you must be able to switch between several browser
tabs/windows.
- Teams will draft only the first 10 players.
- Remaining phases will be conducted like the list format.
- If a league does not fill by the draft date, a new date
will be selected (and teams allowed to switch if that does
not work).
- Expect a live draft to take about 3 hours.
- You may switch leagues until the league is completely
full.
- League and division placement is permanent for the life
of a franchise.
- If you have several friends who want to join together,
you can purchase a package to fill up a division,
conference, or even a full league.
- Do you want to skip the draft process altogether and
pick up an "Orphan Team" in an existing league?
